Said goodbye to an old friend today....

I finally took down our Christmas Tree today (yes, I know it is August and I should have done this months ago). I packed up all of the ornaments and other trimmings and boxed them all up downstairs in storage where they should have been for the majority of this year. This is just the kind of (OK, one of MANY) thing(s) that happens when you have a baby right after Christmas....

It's been a running joke in our family, especially when we have more people over for dinner than will fit at our breakfast table and we have to dine in what we now refer to as the Christmas room (formerly dining room). I've had quite a few people advise me that at this point I may as well leave it up since it's been up now for so long and it's really only 5ish months til the next Christmas. I had really been leaning that way, but then I started thinking that the tree didn't really go with the wall decor that I've been meaning to have my hubby put up since we moved in over 2 years ago (yes, another thing we did this week, yay!)....

AND to top it off I kept having nightmares about Maddie pulling the tree down on top of her. I mean a Christmas tree looks like a super fun thing to play with, right?

Maddie is 6 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days old.
